Art | Everywhere 2011 kicks off on April 30th. Bring your friends, family, and all art lovers near and far to an opening night celebration like no other! Check out what we have up our sleeves this year. We’re sure to throw a few surprises your way that evening as well.

Opening Night Events
630pm - 8pm
Are you a Norfologist? The Norfology crew will be on the street. Share what you love about Norfolk with the world.
6pm - 8pm
Enjoy the evening with a little lemonade and cookies while relaxing in this temporary park. Have the chance to contribute to their art installation as well.
Various snack and beverage carts will be Downtown to keep your bellies as happy as your heart.
6pm - 10pm
Skip the cars and ride your bike to A|E. Look for the bike valet at the TCC Quad for riders to secure bikes (no lock required). Riders may proceed from the valet to enjoy Art Everywhere on foot!
Dusk - 10pm
Enjoy a silent movie while you bask in the glorious art around you.
Catch artists in the act. Local artists will be creating masterpieces right in front of your eyes.
757 Creative Space welcomes visitors to explore their new offices, with over 85 pieces of local art on display. Stand across the street in front of the old Harry's BBQ and look up to experience a unique interactive display sponsored by the space.
830pm
Three artists will each be awarded $500 Visa Gift Cards. Amy Brandt from The Chrysler Museum, Heather Hakimzadeh from The Contemporary Arts Center and John Roth from the ODU Art Department are the official Art | Everywhere judges this year. The announcement will take place at the TCC Quad.
Get your daily dose of laughter at Hell's Kitchen. Get there early, last year this place was packed! “The human race has only one really effective weapon and that is laughter.” - Mark Twain
Grab a scoop of ice cream or two and listen to live tunes at A Latte.
Enjoy live music while you sip on a latte at Bean There Cafe.
The party continues at Hell's Kitchen with Broken Mouth Annie. Dance, sing and throw back a few with your friends.
The Jewish Mother Backstage welcomes The X-Raves. Hear original music from one of the most popular bands of the early 1980’s.

A special thanks goes to the downtown business community for supporting A|E by adding other artists to their windows as well. Look for artists at Hanbury Evans (120 Atlantic Street), WPA (208 E Plume Street) and other businesses throughout downtown.
Artists Elizabeth Cooke, Asa Jackson, James Davis and Chris Ranes have transformed the old boarded up Zedd's building at 776 Granby. Look for more Hampton Roads, The Canvas projects popping up throughout the Seven Cities.
Join Bike Norfolk in a ride from Ghent to Granby Street to enjoy Art | Everywhere. Meet at Blair Middle School (730 Spotswood Avenue) at 530pm and ride the Elizabeth River Trail to Granby Street. All ages welcome.
530pm - The Scope Plaza will come alive with dancers, musicians, and much more, all presenting in trademark Tattoo style. Interact with artists, indulge in food from local vendors, vote in their first-ever audience-judged piping competition or grab a drink from the beer garden.
7pm - 9pm, Mayer Fine Art Gallery, 333 Waterside Dr. Suite #252, A solo show by graduating senior DeVonn Francis. Francis work addresses the ideas of family, place, religion, acceptance and hubris from the perspective of contemporary youth. This talented young artist received best in show at the Student Gallery show in 2010.
Many of the Downtown restaurants will be featuring food and drink specials for the evening. Support your local businesses and stop in for some delicious fare.
